Still alive, Dreamwidth

[livejournal.com profile] kurisuu reminded me the other day that I fail at LiveJournal. I just checked and it's been almost three months since I last updated. I think that easily qualifies as the longest time between updates since I opened my LJ in 2003.

To be honest, I've barely loaded LJ at all in the last three months, so my friends page is so far behind I'm not even going to try to catch up. If something important happened that you think I missed (I probably did), please point me to it.

I finally made it to DW ([personal profile] wyntarvox)! I've managed to grab a few names from other peoples' profiles, but if you're on DW and I missed you, let me know.

I feel like I should use the import tool to bring everything from LJ over just because the import feature seems pretty neat. On the other hand, I have a lot of junk on LJ and I'm leaning toward just leaving it there and starting fresh here on DW.

Holiday!

I've been working where I am for almost four months now and I'm ready for a holiday. I really like where I'm working, but I spent four years at uni having 2-3 week holidays every 10 or so weeks, and 3 months over Christmas. I also never had a full week of classes; I probably spent 15-20 hours in class on average. For good or for bad, I was also one of those students who could do well without doing much work outside of classes.

Suffice it to say that the change from the uni lifestyle to working full-time (and overtime) has been interesting. All things considered, I much prefer where I am now, because it's really made me appreciate my weekends and time off. Nevertheless, seriously ready for a holiday.

Luckily, I'm getting one in about three weeks. Like last year, Mum and Dad are going to the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions horse sales and I'm tagging along. Mum and Dad won't be as busy this year though, so we'll be able to do more holiday-like things together.

A large part of the reason I like to go is just to stay in the amazing holiday-houses we rent for the week. This year we're staying in this one. I would love to own one of these houses to live in -- these people have multiple ones that they just rent out to tourists.
