I'm so looking forward to my time off over Christmas. My last day is the 23rd then I'm off until January 11th. As much as I rant, I do like my job, but by God I'm ready for some time off. If nothing else, it'll be nice to just catch up on sleep. Between work and socialising on the weekends, I'm exhausted.

Have had a fair bit of boy drama the last few weeks. Have decided to make myself move past it, and I think it's working!

I bought the Broadway Wicked soundtrack the other day and I'm in love with it. Popular, No One Mourns the Wicked and For Good in particular. And of course Defying Gravity, but that goes without saying. I've decided that I'm going to see the production in Sydney next month even if I have to go on my own. It won't be the same as if I got to see Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth on Broadway*, but beggars can't be choosers.

* Any Americans, particularly New Yorkers, who didn't take the opportunity to see this, I don't think we can be friends anymore.

I went to lunch with a friend today (Alyce) and I mentioned off-hand how a) I wanted to see Wicked and b) I want to go for a trip to Melbourne at some point. She just about fell off her chair saying she wanted to see Wicked so bad and also would like to see Melbourne at some point!

My original plan was to go to Wicked in Melbourne and kill two birds with one stone, but I hadn't realised that it had already been to Melbourne before coming to Sydney. So the current tentative plan is to fly to Sydney one Friday after work, see Wicked at the Capitol Theatre, then fly down to Melbourne Saturday morning, spend the weekend there doing Melbourney things and then come back Sunday night. Exciting!

I'm also taking tomorrow off to go to Port Macquarie for my grandfather's 80th birthday. It'll be good to catch up with some family that I haven't seen for a while, and the beach is always nice. I love Port. I love long weekends away.

I'm probably going to Festival of the Sun in Port mid-December, and a trip to Bathurst some time soon to catch up with friends. Busy, busy.

Where did all these dust storms suddenly come from? I can smell it, and worst of all I can taste it, and we've got all the windows shut! Pretty sure it's also giving me a headache. Luckily I downed some paracetamol at home at lunch time so that's not as bad anymore.

I'm loving daylight savings right now. It's nice to come home and still have a few hours of daylight. I don't really need the daylight, since I don't have much to do outside during the week after work anyway, but it makes the time between finishing work and going to bed feel longer. When I get home and it's already dark, it just feels like I have dinner and go to bed. I know I don't actually have anymore time than before, but it feels longer.

Wicked is playing in Sydney soon and I would really, really love to go but I don't know if a) I can afford it and b) I can find someone to go with. I should work on this. I think I'd really regret missing the opportunity to go see it.
